This body of work is an exploration of emotion in relation to the river Thames in London and the LiangMa in Beijing, it is a meditation on the landscape informed by my own desire to explore the mental idea of photography. The intention of the project is to give the audience an impression of my past as well as my current life by photographing the physical and psychological paths that I negotiate in these two cities. Beijing and London are the places that I have lived in for the longest periods and, in my opinion, the most significant connection between these two cities are the rivers that flow through them. Within the images I hope to portray aspects of the two cities converse culture and society. Whilst conducting this project I tried to articulate the emotional vocabulary of these two cities as well as my own individualities in undertaking this work.
